Our Community-Based Air Monitoring Project uses Quant MODULAIRTM sensors to collect air quality data in hub communities throughout Alaska. The sensors measure multiple parameters, including particulate matter, gaseous, and meteorological, using "low-cost" sensor technology. Their data quality does not meet rigorous regulatory requirements and should not be compared to regulatory instruments or health-based standards. The data are useful for tracking real-time conditions and displaying trends.
We also display sensor data from the AQEarth project, a network of air monitors deployed in Fort Collins, CO, Anchorage, AK, Atlanta, GA, TriChapter Region, Navajo Nation, and Mexico City, Mexico. The project uses 2B Tech's Personal Air Monitors (PAM), AQLite, and AQSync air monitors to enable local stakeholders to monitor local air pollution.
Disclaimer: When you first load the webpage, please wait a few seconds for the map to show Alaska (approx. 5 seconds). The timestamps on data are in Alaska Standard Time and are time-beginning readings. During Daylight Savings, this will cause an offset of two hours between the timestamps on the website data and current clock time. During Standard Time, there will be an offset of one hour. Data is updated approximately 10 minutes after the top of the hour.
