Ambient Watershed

As part of the Watershed Health and Data Analysis (WHADA) program, ambient watershed surveys characterize the baseline conditions of unimpacted waterbodies on a large scale. Guidance documents may be found on the EPA National Aquatic Resource Surveys webpage. Data collection includes screening level water and biological samples, a physical habitat survey, and field measurements. Ambient watershed monitoring is expected to start in 2023.
